IRVIN CATHERINE JANE Age 93, formerly of Wexford, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017. She was the beloved wife of John B. Irvin for 68 years; and is the mother of James Irvin, Judith Olson, Susan Sutherland, Margaret Ambrose and Katherine Partin. Also survived by eight grandchildren. Catherine was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Wexford in 1960. Always an accomplished pianist she also played the organ and accompanied the choir at Sts. John and Paul Catholic Church. In the 70's she graduated from La Roche College with a degree in nursing and achieved a life long goal of working as a registered nurse at Allegheny General Hospital. Nancy was the oldest of five children, including sisters, Pat (George) Cesnik, Jean (the late Gary Gentile); and brothers, Tommy, and the late Eddie. Nancy was a graduate of Seton Hill University, with a bachelor's in fine arts. She was employed at BNY Mellon for over 33 years, achieving the title of Vice President by the end of her career. She was a loving aunt to Julia and Adam Cesnik (Meghan, Carter, and Aubree), Lisa and Allen, (Jon), Jordan and Ben Gentile; and to the neighborhood families. Nancy's artistic talents included calligraphy, wood burning, and water color painting. Her family knows she is flashing her great smile while dancing the polka with Ida in heaven. Anna Mae was an elementary music teacher in the Bethel Park School District for 33 years, retiring in 1985. She enjoyed volunteering throughout her retirement at Mayview State Hospital. Anna Mae was a former member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair, and more recently at Community Presbyterian Church, Ben Avon, over the years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Emery, on August 16, 1985; as well as a brother, Bruce Collingwood; and a sister, Eloise Collingwood. CLARK-MOORE CONSTANCE ANNE February 15 1949 - April 4, 2017. After a long and difficult battle with cancer and dementia, Connie has passed away on April 4, 2017. She was born in February, 1949, to James E. and Mildred E. Clark. She was a graduate of Ohio University. She was an artist all of her life. She experimented with many different mediums over the years, including: watercolors, oils, pastels, pencils, jewlery, and crochet. She enjoyed having her art included in different art shows throughout the city and the biggest part of all- she loved to teach. Connie was a teacher and department head at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for 27 years. She helped form the music video business department at the school in the 1980s and taught graphic design and visual communication classes as well. She also spent her time listening to music and reading lots of books. She was greatly loved and will be forever missed. The beloved wife of Vaclav David; loving mother of Jennifer C. NEFF JOHN R. Age 81, of West Chester, PA, passed away on April 1, 2017. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Henry R. Neff and Lylie (Hamner) Neff. John was graduated from McKeesport High School and served in the U. S. Air Force from January 1955 - December 1958. He owned Neff Construction Company and Neff Lawn Service. John was a larger-than-life character who brought laughter and insight to those who knew him. He touched the lives of many people in his family, and through his military service, his career selling valves, his volunteer work with the Boy Scouts and his involvement with the people in his local community through his businesses: aerial photography, lawn service, and construction. John is survived by his son, Mark Neff and daughter-in-law, Jacalyn Ackerman; his grandsons Reece Neff and Calvin Ackerman; and his sister, Emily Suzie Neff Zinsner and her husband Dan Zinsner and their children, Richard Zinsner, Janice Inman and Karen Zinsner. She was formerly married to the late Richard Hagy of Pittsburgh. Over the years, Tish combined her talent as a visual artist with volunteer work at many Pittsburgh hospitals. She was a patron of several artistic institutions in Pittsburgh, particularly the Pittsburgh Public Theater. She also contributed to the National Red Cross, the local food bank, Pittsburgh museums, and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, and while she had no children of her own, she was a generous supporter of the Children's Hospital Free Care Fund. Her lifelong passion was art, and she won many awards for her pastel portraits while living in Florida. She was an avid bridge player before macular degeneration took its toll. COLLINS SISTER PATRICIA, SC Formerly Sister Marie Alicia, age 85, died at Caritas Christi, the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill in Greensburg, on April 6, 2017. Born in East Pittsburgh, Sister Patricia entered the congregation of the Sisters of Charity on September 8, 1950, from St. Mary Magdalene Parish, Homestead. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice (Brown) Collins; and a brother, George; she is survived by two brothers, Donald and James Collins; nieces and nephews. Sister Patricia earned a bachelor's degree in education from Seton Hill University and a master's degree in history from Duquesne University. She taught students in junior and senior high school levels in schools of the Altoona, Greensburg and Pittsburgh dioceses. From 1982 through 1990, she was a co-manager of Saint Therese Plaza, Munhall and from 1990-1991, she served in pastoral care ministry at Allegheny General Hospital. From 1991 until 2007, Sister Patricia was a member of the staff at Ursuline Services, Inc., in Pittsburgh, offering guardianship care for the financial and personal needs of the incapacitated elderly in Allegheny County. In 2007, she began ministry at the Little Sisters of the Poor as assistant director for development, a position she held until 2010. An astute historian and uncomplicated personality, Sister Patricia once stated, "Through the experiences of good days and bad days, my faith has deepened and strengthened. Each sister has been God's instrument to help with that growth." Friends will be received prior to a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 310 Mansfield Ave., Green Tree. Interment in St. Michael's Cemetery.
